Recording

We are a Pro Tools based recording studio. We record your sounds onto a computer hard drive and digitally pulverize the megabytes into musical submission. Computers are great but it still takes a human ear to produce great music. We just use technology to expand our creativity.

Mixing

Struggling to get your mix just right? Look, you can have every plugin imaginable and still end up with a ruined mix. Sound is a living breathing thing. We have extensive knowledge and experience to draw from when we put our ears to work on your final mix. It's a process of getting to know every angle in your song and bringing the best sound out of it.

Mastering

Mastering is the final process by which your music is brought to maximum musical volume. Aggressive music is usually 'pushed' hard to the red line, while other styles tend to leave more dynamic headroom or 'air'  to the sound. Without mastering, a great mix can still fall short of it's potential. When people pop in your CD or click to your MP3 they don't want to reach for the volume to hear your music. Anyone who has ever listened to a practice disk knows what I mean. We will post examples of our final mix and master comparisons for you to hear the difference.

Producing

What does a producer do? Good question. Almost every major label artist has a producer in the studio to guide them to a great sounding record. Think of a producer as the test audience for a major film. When it comes to music, a producer's job is to bridge the gap between the bands musicianship and the general public's listening taste. Think of your favorite album and then look up the credits to see who produced it. Then look up the producer to see if they have worked with other artist that you enjoy. Now, here at Linear Sound we are NOT going to tell our clients how or what to play. But we will offer constructive criticism and advice on how to make your songs more marketable. You can take it or leave it. Totally up to you. Leaning on advice from knowledgeable musicians may help you make the next step in your music career. Just something to think about.
